Alphanumeric or Numeric – What’s the difference?

The words numeric and alphanumeric are two different things. They both have to do with numbers, but their definitions differ.

Numeric

Numeric characters are numbers. You know, 1, 2, 3 and so on. They’re used in math and science (you can’t have a formula without them), but they’re also used to represent things like time or dates.
